La Segua (1836 ha.) es un humedal de agua dulce ubicado en la confluencia de los ríos Carrizal y Chone. Esta constituido por un pantano central que casi siempre se encuentra anegado y una extensa llanura que se cubre de agua en la estación lluviosa.	La Segua (1836 hectares) is a freshwater wetland located in the confluence of the rivers Carrizal and Chone, consisting of a central marsh that is flooded most of the time and an extensive plain that is inundated in the rainy season.
En La Segua hay aproximadamente 280 especies de pájaros.	In La Segua there are approximately 280 thousand kinds of birds.
En el área puede encontrar árboles de mangles, bosques de ceibo, humedad de agua dulce como en la ciénaga La Segua.	In the area you can find mangrove trees, ceibos forests, sweet water humidity such as that in La Segua Marsh.
Alrededor de la ciénaga se ubican cuatro pueblos (San Antonio, La Segua, La Sabana y Larrea) con una población aproximada de 1700 personas; la mayoría de esta gente de dedica a la pesca, ganadería y agricultura dentro del humedal.
