Como respuesta a nuestro Plan Trienal 2009 – 2011, un grupo de veintinueve misioneros nos hemos congregado en la casa de encuentros Getsemaní de las Hijas de la Caridad, en Quito – Ecuador, para participar en el V ENCUENTRO DE MISIONEROS JOVENES.	As a response to our Three Year Plan–2009-2011 a group of twenty-nine Vincentian missionaries gathered together in the Gethsemane house of the Daughters of Charity in Quito, Ecuador in order to participate in the Fifth Gathering of Young Missionaries.

Por ello, nos hemos congregado para Animarnos, Formarnos, Informarnos y Reflexionar sobre la alegría de ser misioneros en este Tercer Milenio.	We have gathered together to love one another, to be formed and informed and to reflect on the joy of being missionaries in this third millennium.

Nos hemos congregado aquí en memoria de Trygve Lie, el primer Secretario General de las Naciones Unidas, durante cuyo mandato, hace 70 años, se redactó y aprobó la Declaración Universal de Derechos Humanos.	We are here in memory of Trygve Lie, thefirst UN Secretary General. It was during hismandate that the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was drafted and adopted, 70 years ago.
Nos hemos congregado en esta Asamblea General para debatir un tema que está ligado a nuestro desarrollo democrático y es uno de los que más preocupa a los ciudadanos y ciudadanas de todas las Américas.	We have come together in this General Assembly to discuss a topic related to our democratic development—one of the topics of greatest concern to people across the Americas.
En otras palabras, la gente debe ver a este equipo que hemos congregado, la relación entre el poder ejecutivo y el poder legislativo, como personas que son. vienen a Washington, D.C. a resolver problemas.	In other words, people—people ought to view this team we've put together, the relationship between the executive branch and the legislative branch, as people who are—come to Washington, D.C. to solve problems.
