Un total de 24 universidades fueron visitadas a través del programa Bayer Young Community Innovators (BYCI), que promueve ideas innovadoras para brindar soluciones a las necesidades esenciales de la población.	A total of 24 schools were visited through the Bayer Young Community Innovators (BYCI) program, which promotes innovative ideas to provide solutions to the essential needs of the population.
BYCI recibió más de 70 proyectos a nivel nacional, y el ganador fue David Sandoval, de la Universidad de las Fuerzas Armadas (ESPE), carrera de Ingeniería Electrónica, Automatización y Control, con el proyecto 'Pal-Care'.	BYCI received more than 70 projects nationwide, and the winner was David Sandoval, from the University of the Armed Forces (ESPE), who studies Electronic Engineering, Automation, and Control, with the 'Pal-Care' project.
Según Romina Solari, coordinadora de Comunicaciones en Bayer y anfitriona del encuentro, el BYCI busca fomentar y premiar, año a año, la creatividad de los jóvenes de la región andina, así como generar espacios para visibilizar sus propuestas.
