¿Me llamas por mi nombre o es un apócope de...?	Are you calling me by my name, or is that short for...?
Gramaticalmente se dice que gran es la apócope de grande, su versión corta por así decirlo.	Grammatically it is said that gran is the apocopation of grande, its shortened version in this way of speaking.

Los demás adjetivos susceptibles de apócope permiten otro adjetivo en medio: algún desagradable contratiempo, el primer infausto acontecimiento.	Other adjectives susceptible to apocopation, however, do allow another adjective in between: algún desagradable contratiempo (some unpleasant mishap), el primer infausto acontecimiento (the first unfortunate occurrence).
En catalán cuando se encuentran los articulos el y els delante de las preposiciones a, de, per, per a y a la partícula ca (apócope de casa) se forman unas contracciones. Vemos ahora una lista de las posible contracciones.	In catalan when there is the article el or the article els before the preposition a, de, per, per a or before the particle ca (standing for casa, meaning house/home) you have to join them creating a contraction.
